SIMBA (Shadeleaf records)
For Maple Radio 003 we enlist the soul brother Simba. Coming to us from across the pond, the UK producer concocts warm sample based house infused with influences from jazz, the OG sonic trailblazers of Chicago and Detroit, and golden era Hip Hop. His burgeoning discography consists of EP releases on such highly regarded labels as Stripped & Chewed, Home Taping is Killing Music, Intimate Friends, G.A.M.M and Shadeleaf. He also boasts a stellar remix from the current International DJ of the Year, The Black Madonna. His idiosyncratic reworking skills have also been enlisted recently by the likes of Inkswel and Marcel Vogel among others.

Heart to Hearts focus on quality physical format (vinyl) landed all 8 of their releases in the finest record shops around the globe and subsequently in the record boxes of the world's most tasteful selectors. Riding the wave felt around the world from the fresh sounds of house coming out of western Canada's dance music scene over the past few years, Heart to Heart is now a major contributor to the world of tasteful, stripped back and infectious dance music. Label co-head, Bron constructs a perfect Heart to Heart experience which over his 17 years behind the decks has refined itself to this latest mix for Maple Radio. Artists like Subjoi, Jesse Bru, LUZ1E and Max Wyatt lend tasteful grooves for this low slung mix of deep house with hints of 90's RnB held together by a crunchy lo-fi drum machine backbone throughout.
The first in the series is brought to us by Lou Phelps, a rising Montreal-based artist and producer. Eclectic and moody, and reflective of the shift to the autumn season, Lou offers a seamless blend of rap and electronic sounds, with tracks from Lou himself, Goldlink, SOB x RBE, Anderson Paak, A Digital Needle and his infamous brother Kaytradana.
